Rating: 6/10

What is Isagenix?

Founded by John Anderson, Jim Coover, and Kathy Coover in 2002, Isagenix is a Health & Wellness MLM Company that sells weigh loss products. It claims to help you lose weight, has more energy and makes money at the same time through its “generous compensation plan”.

If it is your first time to hear about MLM, it is a legitimate business model that offers members multi-tier income opportunity.

However, it is oftentimes mistaken as a pyramiding scheme as it involves the traditional recruitment system, whereby in order to unlock commissions and bonuses, members also need to invite people to be their downlines.

The only difference is that while MLM also focuses on selling products, pyramiding scheme merely relies on recruiting people to receive monetary incentives.

In most cases, it’s hard to bust a pyramiding scheme because it uses products to hide its true identity. If you want to learn more about what is a pyramid scheme, please fee to check out the FDC explanation about pyramid scheme.

Moving on, is Isagenix really one of the best MLM companies to join?

We will find that out as we move through the next session.

Isagenix Most Popular Products

Isagenix is a popular MLM company that sells weight loss products, which it claims to be effective. Their most popular product is the 9-Day Weight Loss System, which costs approximately $207.94.

The package includes various kinds of weight loss products such as protein shakes, snacks in tablet form, and herbal supplements which serve as a replacement to your ordinary meal.

The products aim to accelerate weight loss, satisfy cravings, and improve muscle tone.

How to Make Money Isagenix?

To start making money with Isagenix, you’ll need to sign up as Associate by paying $29/year (with autoship) or $39/year (without autoship) and achieve a personal volume of 100PV within 30 days in a 90 days period.

This means you’ll need to place a Qualifying Product Order amounting to around $150 a month (equivalent to 100PV) to be maintained as an active Associate.

As long as you purchase its 9-day WeightLoss system, you’ll automatically become its Associate and eligible to earn a retail profit and unlock more opportunities to earn multiple bonuses and commissions.

Isagenix offers the opportunity for members to advance up to 5 rankings through recruiting people to join as your downlines, ultimately nurture your teams to become bigger.

Now, let us discover how you can truly earn money with Isagenix through its multi-level compensation scheme, consisting of 6 income methods

Product Introductory Rewards

To encourage customers to become Associates, Isagenix offers a $25 product coupon to whoever that can sell a set of Qualifying Product Order to any new member. This coupon can be only used to buy any of Isagenix products but can’t be cashed out.

Retail Profit and Direct Retail Profit

As I mentioned earlier, only an Isagenix Associate is eligible to earn Retail Profit whereby they can buy products at a discounted price of 25%, thereafter sell it at retail price to customers who are a non-member.

All associates will be provided with an individual website so when someone buys from your site, you’ll earn Direct Retail Profits, which is paid weekly. However, as the name indicate, there’s a small administrative fee charged to Associate when someone buys from their website.

However, unless you learn affiliate marketing tactics to promote products online, otherwise it’s almost impossible to promote anything online.

If you’re just taking the traditional way of selling products face-to-face, it might not help you earn enough money to quit your job.

Team Bonus

Team bonus is the foundation of Isagenix multi-tier compensation plan. It’s only available when you achieved the Consultant rank that is the 2nd level in this MLM rank system.

You can earn as much as $54 residual income per cycle of 900 group volume (GV) up to a maximum of 250 Cycles per week. This means if you managed to qualify for maximum cycles, you could have earned $13,500 per week.

But the truth is, hardly anyone can manage to achieve this. To qualify for Team Bonus, your team must have at least 300 GV on one side and 600 GV on the other side.

Executive Matching Team Bonuses

You can truly enjoy the highest perks or should I say earn passive income when you reach the Executive rank. At this rank, you’ll be able to receive a 10% Matching Team Bonus on weekly team bonuses that are earned by your direct referrals who are Consultants and beyond on a weekly basis.

Special Incentives and Promotions

This includes a whole bunch of bonuses that are given to you as you advance in rank. One example is the Promotional Bonus when you advanced to each rank.

Manager: $250 one-time rank advancement bonus

Director: $750 one-time rank advancement bonus

Executive: $1,000 one-time rank advancement bonus

All these incentives and promotions change from time to time to encourage members to advance in rank. Some of the more popular ones include IsaBody Challenge, IsaDerby contest and Leadership Pools.

Who is Isagenix For?

Isagenix is best for people who are highly persistent, self-motivated, can consistently promote products to new faces and strive to help others lose weight.

Just like other MLM businesses such as Juice Plus, Optavia, Usana, doTERRA, Young Living and Essante Organics, it's is never an easy route to achieve success. It requires massive efforts to sell products, recruit new members, and nurture downlines to earn more bonuses and commissions.

Despite you will be given your own website to sell Isagenix products, not all associates have the skills to do online marketing. Furthermore, Isagenix is not providing this type of training comprehensively to members and this limits the potential to earn more commission.

That’s why many members end up settling with the traditional method of selling products, which will require really hard work to gain more profits.

The Truth About Isagenix

It's undeniable that Isagenix offers legitimate business opportunities for people to earn extra income. However, there are things you must know before deciding to become its Associate.

Truth # 1: Some of its founders have a negative background

While Isagenix seem to be a reliable business, two of its founders, Jim Coover & John Anderson, were actually involved with another MLM called The Cambridge Diet which went bankrupt in 1983.

According to the news, the Cambridge Diet has promised a good future which lured many young executives to drop out of their carrier to focus on the multi-tier income opportunity it offers. However, the company has spiraled out of control and eventually went bankrupt.

Though it happened a long time ago, this is still a piece of bad news for everyone who believes that MLM can make them rich. While you can make money with MLM, you won’t earn enough income to quit your job just by selling products.

Eventually, you will be convinced to go down to the repeating cycle of recruiting people in order to advance in rank and earn higher commissions.

Truth #2: The Product Effectiveness Can Be Highly Subjective

While the company claims 100% effectiveness of its products, the results can largely vary depending on a lot of factors. I haven’t used the products myself but I’ve found highly polarized comments from its users.

There are people who said they have felt a huge difference after using the products while others say they have experienced a lot of side effects.

In my opinion, the best way to lose weight is to have a healthy diet and daily exercise. Instead of using meal replacement formulas such as Isagenix, you can opt for the natural way, which is 100% safe and effective when done right.

Truth #3: Only A Small Number of People Succeed

Only a very few percentage of people have actually made a decent income with Isagenix.

In their 2015 income disclosure, which is the latest I could find, there are only 5% of Isagenix members who have made $15,363 annually.

While it is true that some people have made a decent income with Isagenix, not everyone was able to achieve their goals.

If you are still starting, you’ll need to work really hard in order to advance in rank and earn higher commissions.

Things I like About Isagenix

I like the fact that Isagenix does provide a legit and equal opportunity for anyone to become a millionaire.

This is validated in its earning statement as of December 31, 2017 showing a total of 254 Isagenix millionaires globally, with 180 of them being in the United States.

However, I still do not recommend joining this company as the MLM compensation plan is just too complex. Furthermore, any MLM company reserves the right to change its plan at any time which can affect the commission earned by any member.

If you are looking for a business opportunity that can generate a passive income, less volatile and does not require you to continuously recruit new faces, then MLM is definitely not the choice you should consider.

Is Isagenix One of the Best MLM Companies to Join?

I can safely say that Isagenix is one of the best MLM companies to join considering its generous compensation plan. However, I cannot say this is a better alternative to your regular job.

MLM can be a good way to earn extra money but not a viable substitute for your monthly income.

There will be times where you will generate profits with Isagenix, but the pressure to recruit members to rank higher for better commissions will drive you tired.

If you want to take advantage of the multi-tier income opportunity that MLM companies offer, I suggest you promote products from multiple companies using affiliate marketing method and teach your downlines to do the same.

This way, you don’t have to spend enormous effort doing face-to-face selling and recruiting people. With great affiliate marketing tactics, you can promote products online with less time investment.

How I Start A Small Business Online

I know how intrigued you are to discover the truth behind the tempting multi-tier income opportunity that MLMs offer.

I used to do MLM for a short while but the need to exert more effort and invest more time selling products and recruiting people made me quit.

That is how I ended up starting a small business online promoting affiliate products, which is a much simpler business model compared to MLM business.

Unlike MLM, affiliate marketing doesn’t restrict you to a single brand. It lets you promote multiple products from different MLM companies, therefore, amplifying the opportunity to earn more with less time needed as your business grows.

If you too prefer a simpler way to earn a full-time income from home, I suggest you get a copy of my free guide and follow through the process that I took to make this work for me.

  1. Wow! Isagenix appears to me as one of the leaders in the MLM industry on the weightloss products. Surely a legitimate one for anyone who is good at selling to join. But because MLM businesses have a lot of instances that people are not making money with them makes me feel unsecured to join. Guess, I might consider affiliate marketing instead. Thanks for sharing.

  2. While I’m not the biggest fan of MLMs generally, I am glad to see that Isagenix has some pretty solid incentives such as Product Introductory Rewards, Retail Profit, Direct Retail Profit and Team Bonuses. Your review about this MLM company really helps me understand more so I could make informed decision. I appreciate your honest review and will definitely consider to leverage affiliate marketing to promote MLM products, if I decided to join!

  3. Isagenix is an admixture of the good and the bad of MLM bu then, the good part of it outshines the bad parts of it. This is really great and I’m sure that I can really pull something great from being on here. I am a big fan of MLM and the weight loss is my niche so, I will surely wan to give a trial to this too. thanks for sharing

  4. It seems like all the companies who are into health or wellness have decided to use the MLM business model to market their products. I see here that Isagenix has some really good compensations but most of my friends who went into MLM didn’t manage to make a full-time income. Don’t think MLM is for me too. You mentioned about affiliate marketing. How can I get started?

  5. This is a very interesting article on the Isagenix company.  In the past, I too also tried my hand at Multi-level marketing.  And like you said it is tough.  The number of hours that you spend promoting products, organizing meetings and attending meetings can be overwhelming.   I guess having own online business is simpler and might be more lucrative.  I downloaded your free guide and will try to follow through. Thanks for this in-depth explanation about Isagenix.
