Where To Find High Quality Free Image For Your Blog

Free high quality image for your blog

Having good image is important to increase the visibility of your content. Therefore, since Day One I started to build a business online, I've relentlessly searched for high quality images that is free. Trust me, this can really be overwhelmed.

After searching for some time, I finally found some very awesome websites that offer free high quality stock images. Here are some of my favorites that I would like to share with you.

1. Flickr

Flickr has been the most reliable source of free image that comes with eight different license categories. Not all images can be used the same way. Therefore it can be pretty complicated if you are not familiar with so many types of image categories under Creative Commons license. To be safe, I just use images in “Free Use Photos” section where you aren't required to give credit to the creator.

2. Unsplash

If you ever want to find more artistry images, Unsplash is definitely a good choice. You can choose images from inventory and even subscribe to receive 10 images every 10 day. All photos published are licensed under Creative Commons Zero which means you can copy, modify, distribute and use the photos for free without providing attribution to the photographer.

3. StockSnap

StockSnap consist of highest quality and highest resolution pictures from around the web. Images are curated from the best stock photos and contributed by photographers around the world. There are hundreds of images uploaded every week and can be sorted according to date and number of views received. There is also a stream on trending photos that enable you to access to the most popular images on the site.

4. Pixabay

The first website I got my free images from is Pixabay. There are more than 400,000 images to select from where you can use any Pixabay image without attribution in digital and printed form. I have to credit Wealthy Affiliate for recommending this website to me and also suggesting me many tips on real ways to earn money online.

You may want to donate to these websites that offer high quality free images so that everyone is able to have more free images in future.

  1. Thank you thank you! I only had one source of free photos for my website and I was worried I was starting to exhaust this source. Thanks to this post, I now have more. Great quality and beautiful photos are such a big part of what makes a post appealing or not. Therefore having these extra sources for great photos, is excellent. Thanks again for sharing these resources.

  2. I love this post, very informative, thanks for all of this very valuable information, I am trying to build a website of my own at the moment and often looking for free images that I can use, this is awesome…and I never knew that you could create threads of your own in forums with a link back to your own site…I am going to give it a go and see if it actually works, thanks so much for this, Justine ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Hi Florence, thanks for sharing this list of high-quality and free image websites for my blog.

I particularly like Pixarbay and used a lot of free images from there. I will bookmark this page and come back for more pictures from the other sites you recommends here.

    Wishing you the best!

  4. Hey Florence,

Nice list of resources for free images.

I usually get my images from Pixabay. And I’ve just started looking into Flickr.

I haven’t even heard of the other two. I better check them out sometime.

Canva is a great tool though for creating your own graphics. I mostly use it for my featured images.

    Anyway, great post!

    Cheers,
    Julian

  5. Hey Florence,
As a fellow blogger, I believe photos are great as readers will be more attracted to read our article that way especially if they relate more to what we’re writing.
Great work on your list but if you don’t mind, I too have some websites that I often go too for high quality photos that I personally use for my blog:
    – Pexels
    – Pic Jumbo
    – Stocksnap.io
    – IM Free
    – Splitshire
    – Life of Pix
    – New Old Stock

These sites do not require us to attribute them so we can use them for free without worries for tagging them and all that. Hope you don’t mind me sharing and all the best in your future endeavours!

  6. This is a great post. Fantastic for anyone looking to blog or build up their website. I personally use death to the stock photos but your listed sites are great. Also, I’ll be looking in to them!

Do you always use free photos, or do you occasionally pay for a picture? Won’t most sites have the same ones?

    1. Initially I do use free images but as the need arises, I started to buy. Well, paid photos are normally higher quality than free ones. If you are particular about images, maybe you should try http://www.canva.com to design your images. They do provide high quality images at $1 per image if you need some. Hope this helps. I

  7. Perfect! This is just what I was looking for because I have been searching for websites where I could get free images for my blog posts ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks for the awesome blog image resources, and I will definitely start my search with Flickr!

  8. Thank you kindly!!!I usually use Pixabay, but for my new blog I take my own pictures. A bit time consuming I know:) But I also enjoy photography. Your post is very helpful and to be honest with you I had no idea there were that many Free sites that offer quality. Thanks again for a very helpful post.

  9. Out of all the free stock image sites you have covered here I have to say that Pixabay is by far the best – I’ve used it since it was in beta and it just gets better and better by the year. No attribution, huge amounts of topics, subjects and choice – the perfect free image site!

  10. Awesome! I also heard about Pixabay from Wealthy Affiliate and boy, I don’t know what I would do without it! I do want to try some of these sites though as well. On rare occasion, Pixabay does not have exactly what I am looking for. Wikimedia Commons does not always tend to work out for me either. Thank you for some more options!

It is cool these websites provide free images you can use on your blogs, without high quality photographs your blog would not be nearly as interesting. Photographs tell a story more than words can express sometimes, I love a good article with good photographs helping me understand the article even more
